Economy
Fictional money.
Real physics.
Everything below is design canon for the in-game economy โ locked rules the code is built against, and as of build 0.22.0 a good chunk of it is playable. All of it is fictional currency in a video game. None of it is, or ever becomes, a real financial product.
Two layers
One pays rent.
One promises everything.
๐ต Dollaz
Fiat ยท the survival layer
Rent, food, cigarettes, energy drinks. Dollaz is the money your real life runs on โ boring, scarce, and constantly leaving.
โก Zol
Chain currency ยท the casino layer
Bought with Dollaz, spent on hope. Zol is the game's Solana-flavored chain currency โ the only thing the memecoin casino accepts, and the gas every move costs.
Two tiers
The safe bag and the casino.
Canon splits every asset into two emotional universes โ and makes a point of it: you cannot make rent trading blue chips. Real blue chips move 1โ2% a day; over a session that's nothing. Only the casino can change your life, and that's the argument the whole game is making.
| Tier | Lives in | Assets | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|---|
| ๐ Blue chip | Fantom Wallet | BTZ ยท LyteCoin ยท Zol ยท USDZ | Live prices, slow moves. Mechanically boring on purpose โ being boring is its function. |
| ๐ฐ Degen | pumpdotfam | The memecoin roster | Violent, directed, rug-prone. The only tier that can save you, and the only one that can end you. |
Why the casino is custodial
Fantom is self-custody; pumpdotfam holds your coins while you trade. That's deliberate โ it unlocks the most authentic story in crypto: the platform can rug you. Whoever withdrew is fine. Whoever left it on the exchange is not. Every session, you decide how much stays at risk.
The funnel
Four steps from bank account to bag, each with friction, each a decision. Moving between venues costs Zol as gas โ hold memecoins with no Zol and you can't move your own money. That pain is canon.
The market law
Only a fill writes a price.
The degen market runs on one causal chain โ no exceptions, no hidden hand stamping numbers onto charts. Even the AI Director that stages the drama has to trade to move anything.
Your trades matter
Player fills run through the identical engine as NPC fills. Price impact is quadratic in pool depth โ in a shallow coin, your buy is the candle.
Tiers are earned
A coin's tier is a measured life stage, not a sticker: Wild โ Unstable โ Stable as its pool deepens. Trader tiers work the same โ minnow to whale by measured wealth.
Dying coins die honestly
Reserves grow on buys and drain on sells. A dying coin thins out and craters faster as holders flee โ and below a floor it's delisted, not left flopping at absurd prices.
Already real
Off the drawing board.
The two-layer economy stopped being a diagram. In build 0.22.0 the bank, the wallet and live coin pages are all in the game โ Fund Fantom is a button you can press, and Buy and Sell already work.

Bank light, wallet dark. That contrast is the joke and the point: one app wants to look like a responsible institution, the other tells you up front that your money is your problem.

๐งพ The guardrails, in writing
Free to play. No pay-to-win. No token. Monetization is deferred until the game earns real traction, and would be cosmetics-grade if it ever arrives. Canon is explicit that any future real-world coin would be optional, separate from gameplay, and never promised โ the project thesis is proof of culture: make the game good enough that the culture shows up for the game itself.
Translation: if someone offers to sell you pumpdotfam anything, they are the tutorial boss.
